Discovered by Mark Knopfler’s manager Paul Crockford, the man behind Dire Straits, Tears for Fears and Level 42, British blues guitarist Scott McKeon is a heavy-hitter on the UK rock scene, playing sold out shows across Europe, headlining with Eric Clapton and collaborating on material for his next album with funk legend Bootsy Collins—not bad for a 20-year-old who recorded his first album onto a computer in his living room and promoted it online. Short-listed by Google as one of the world’s best blues guitarists, McKeon’s music infuses blistering blues riffs with mainstream pop sensibilities to create an accessible brand of rock that has audiences across the pond totally hooked. Mixing flavors of the past with contemporary trends, his first major label release, Can’t Take No More, entered the iTunes UK blues album charts at #4. McKeon is definitely on his way to achieving mainstream success.
He shares a bill with Eric Clapton, The Police, Sheryl Crow, and John Mayer
as a co-headliner at this summer’s “Hard Rock Calling” festival in London,
then heads straight to North America for a whirlwind of prime gigs, including
The Taste of Chicago, The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Mont Tremblant Blues
Festival and Toronto’s legendary blues mecca, The Silver Dollar Room.

Toronto`s premier blues club introduced a Wednesday Bluegrass night back in 1997 with no great expections. Who new then, that after 9 years that night of the week , in that venue would become a musical tradition. It started off with a duo that evolved into the legendary band Heartbreak Hill. When H.H. disbanded Chris Quinn and Dan Whiteley stayed on and formed Crazy Strings, adding four more band members. Over the years Crazy Strings has spawned notable bluegrass groups, The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Creeking Tree String Quartet. Former member, Jenny Whiteley has gone on to win Juno awards and release solo recordings. Joey Wright now tours with Sarah Harmer and Dan Whiteley now plays drums with alt-country band, Luther Wright & The Wrongs. Today`s version of Crazy Strings features Chris Quinn, banjo, Chris Coole guitar/vocals, John Showman fiddle, Marc Roy guitar, Max Heiniman acoustic bass and Andrew Collins mandolin. The group features a bi-weekly special guest to add to the over the top musical experience. Press Photos
